Info about the fold
The "hand-inserted fold" is not noticeable on the foot - it is only for optical reasons.
Since it is "inserted by hand", it always varies in thickness and exact position. The fold also varies depending on the thickness of the leather.

Here, only the selection of the basic material is decisive, e.g.
- for a light summer shoe in suede, please choose leather MELODY.
- for a super soft comfortable shoe choose ELK leather
- for a strong, robust shoe, please choose NEVADA leather.

In general, the leather types are all suitable for year-round use. Only the CITY quality is more recommended for the warmer months.

Choose the colour:
Look only at the colour effect - not at the leather or the model. Choose the colour only.
Remember that the colour is only a guideline and is not 100% binding. Depending on the processing stage and finish, the colour will turn out slightly different - slight variations are normal.
It is about the general colour direction you choose.
E.g. if you want a "cognac tone" then select "190 or brandy" - depending on your preference. Depending on the other options, the tone will be slightly lighter or darker.

Information in brackets (wash, caos, etc.)
In the brackets, it is indicated which finish was used for the model shown.
Please note that the options "wash", "caos" or "dark" also have an effect on the colour.
The same colour tone will appear slightly lighter when washed and with "caos" than when not washed and with "dark".

Should the shoe be washed?
- NO - please unwashed and cleaner in finish.
- YES - the shoe should get a slight vintage effect by washing
- YES - the shoe should get a strong vintage effect through washing
Note: Washing the shoe can always cause slight changes in the colour. Slight "stains" from the eyelets or hooks of the shoe on the leather are also characteristic and enhance the individuality of the shoe. (Due to the dip-dyeing process, the eyelets can lie on the leather during dyeing, for example, and thus stand out - basically, the lighter the colour, the more such details can become visible. In dark colours they are not visible)

Note on the soles:
Both soles can be worn all year round.
The leather sole also tends to look lighter and more summery with lighter leather.
The Vibram sole provides the slightly heavier overall impression - and good for bad weather.

Choose the right size for your shoe:
Shoto shoes are approximately one size larger than normal shoe sizes.
I.e. if you usually wear a size 43, then a size 42 is sufficient for Shoto.
Note on the half sizes:
Shoto shoes are always made in whole sizes (42, 43, 44 etc.) - the half sizes have a little more volume over the instep and are therefore more suitable for wider feet and feet with a higher instep.
I.e. as an example 43 and 43.5 are exactly the same length - the 43.5 just has more width over the instep.
All shoes are delivered with insoles for fine adjustment of the instep height. If in doubt, order ½ size larger and fine-tune with the insole.
At the end of the order process, we will ask you if you would like a sample pair to be sent to you before the order is processed - if you have no experience with Shoto shoes.

Using traditional craftsmanship, Stefano Medori, the second generation, makes unique shoes with great passion. By hand, each shoe is first dipped in a dye bath and then air-dried for at least 24 hours. This creates a unique colouring and varied shades - each wash is unique.
In the 'Stoned Washed' process, the shoes, which are treated with abrasive stones, gain an authentic vintage look. The final finish brings out the unique characteristics - the gradients and shades. The use of premium horse, elk, antelope and calf leather, combined with the best Italian leather soles, create a one-of-a-kind shoe of the finest quality.
