The Hanky Panky
Some don't feel perfect when they don't have the right drink in their hands. However, finding the drink that makes you perfect is often not that easy. Charles Hawtrey was lucky. He asked the bartender of his trust for a perfect cocktail to suit him and Ada Coleman served him a drink of gin, Italian wormwood and bitter herbs.
His reaction: "By Jove. That is the real Hanky Panky speaks volumes. Without comment we accept this enthusiastic exclamation of the eccentric Charles Hawtrey and count the HANKY PANKY to one of the most popular cocktail classics until today.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: lush and intense, spicy and herbaceous, with delicate hints of citrus and seductive mint, a subtle oral aroma.
Taste: surprisingly delicate, with herbs and juniper, a hint of galant coupled with a hint of rhubarb and citrus fruits, subtle traces of oak and gentian.
Finish: bittersweet and herbaceous. Total: complex and harmonious, a sensual drink.
Contents: gin, red wormwood, bitter herbs, 31.9% vol., orange zest, orange oil.
Sizes: 700 ml and 50 ml (test sizes = for 2 cocktails)
Preparation: Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into a cocktail tip. Add a Zeste to the drink. To finish, moisten the cocktail once with the aroma atomizer.
