The Sazerac Cocktail Box
It is the forefather of cocktails. With its creation in the 1830s, it marks the zero hour of the cocktail era. It is considered the first mixed drink to be given a name and represents almost 200 years of cocktail history - THE SAZERAC COCKTAIL. Actually, the apothecary Peychaud only wanted to sell his bitter and mixed it with good cognac and some sugar.
Later, some absinthe was added to this mix, making the SAZERAC one of the most popular absinthe cocktails in the world.
Tasting Notes
Colour: mahogany
Aroma: subtle aromas of dried plums and dates, with hints of apricot, vanilla, chocolate and walnuts and a touch of biscuit.
Taste: velvety smooth, full-bodied, elegant wood notes with sweet hints of cocoa and liquorice.
Finish: long and smooth, elegant depth with spicy sweetness.
Overall: intense and smooth - with wonderful complexity

Preparation: If you want to enjoy the "Adam" of cocktails as authentically as possible, you should follow the original recipe: Cognac XO, bitters, sugar, absinthe and a squirted lemon zest for the finish. Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into an Old-Fashioned glass. Add a zest to the drink. To finish, sprinkle the cocktail once with the aroma diffuser.
