Camel hair

In the Arab countries and Southeast Asia, camel hair is thrown off by oafs and dromedaries in spring and then collected. The sand-coloured to reddish-brown fur corresponds to the quality of merino wool and is characterised by its rarity and fineness. The down hair is easily spinnable and creates very light and warming substances in relation to its volume.

The very fine hair of young camels up to the age of one, the so-called "baby camel hair", is white to blond and is particularly sought-after.
