Chambray

Chambray is the little brother of denim and is often confused with it. It is a light fabric, usually woven from cotton or linen. The fabric, which is usually two-coloured, is discreetly striped or checked and a coloured weft and a white warp thread are woven for the plain weave, creating a "frosted" effect. Chambray is often used to make shirts, blouses or summer dresses. However, it is less suitable for festive occasions as it looks very casual.
