Primaloft

Primaloft is a man-made alternative to down that is mainly found in fashion, outdoor clothing and equipment. It is a high-quality, synthetic insulation material made of polyester that reliably protects against the cold.

During the production of Primaloft, a tightly cross-linked fibre structure is created, which consists of fine, soft polyester microfibres that are bonded together with the help of heat. Within this structure, small air chambers are created that, like down, store body heat and insulate from the cold outside. Probably the biggest advantage over conventional down, however, is its water resistance. When wet, it not only retains its shape, but also 98% of its insulating properties. The fibres are also treated with a water-repellent substance during production, so that moisture cannot settle and water vapour can escape more quickly.
