D.A.T.E. is the acronym of the names of the four young founders (Damiano, Alessandro, Tommaso, Emiliano) of the company of the same name. In 2005, the four met in London and decided to launch their own sneaker collection because they were dissatisfied with their old jobs. So they threw themselves into the project, which initially consisted of fixing up old machines and producing their first models in an improvised workshop in Emiliano's garage.
In January 2006, thanks to the kindness of a friend, they received an invitation to exhibit as guests at a stand at Pitti Immagine Uomo and present their collection in a small space. Thanks to their sense of craftsmanship, the first D.A.T.E. wowed the public and sold more than 8,000 pairs in just three days. D.A.T.E. became a real novelty of the season.
