Chenille

Chenille (French: "caterpillar") refers to a fabric that has a velvety surface and is made from chenille yarn. The yarn has many fibers protruding from the sides. This so-called pile gives the chenille yarn the external appearance of a hairy caterpillar and later provides the voluminous surface in the fabric.

Chenille yarn can be made from different fibers. As a rule, it consists of viscose, cotton, polyacrylic or polypropylene fibers. Chenille products made of high quality chenille yarn are durable and long-lasting. However, when caring for them, you should be a little more attentive, as incorrect handling can also lead to uncontrolled thread displacement.
